Kairos College Essay Intensive

Finding an authentic voice in the crowded field of college applications requires more than good writing—it demands self-reflection, strategic thinking, and the ability to craft a compelling narrative that stands out to admissions committees. Our college essay course, led by an English scholar with degrees from Brown, Oxford, and Cornell, helps students discover and develop their unique voice for personal statements and supplemental essays.

Drawing on extensive experience in literature, composition, and current work in administration at a competitive New York private school, our instructor brings both academic rigor and practical admissions insight to the writing process. Students learn to move beyond generic topics and predictable approaches to uncover the stories and perspectives that make them distinctive candidates.

The course is structured as an intensive 3-4 session program that includes:

  • Guided self-reflection and topic exploration to identify authentic themes

  • Analysis of successful essays and admissions strategies

  • Individual brainstorming and outline development

  • Draft workshops with detailed feedback and revision guidance

  • Supplemental essay strategy tailored to specific colleges and prompts

  • Final review and polish sessions

Students emerge from the course not only with polished essays but with a clearer understanding of their own strengths, experiences, and aspirations. The goal is to help each student present their most compelling and authentic self to college admissions committees.
